Legendary Meetings at The Driskill. For well over a century, historical benchmarks have regularly been crafted at The Driskill. Former President Lyndon B. Johnson awaited news of his successful 1948 Senate run and his 1960 election to the office of Vice President, and 1964 election as President from the Mezzanine-level Jim Hogg room. Inaugural balls for Texas governors Sul Ross, William P.
