A talented handful of kids will see their culinary creations come to life Oct. 11, when Austin’s Driskill Hotel puts nine young recipe finalists to a real-life challenge. The aspiring chefs recently took part in the Young Chef’s Academy, a national program with classes offered throughout the country, including Austin. The Driskill’s Executive Chef Jonathan Gelman worked with the academy to launch the recipe contest, which includes recipes from local children ages 4-14. Donned in chef coats and hats, the finalists will prepare and present three plates of their winning recipe, along with photos and stories of themselves. Read More
