For years my husband has said "one of these days I'm going to stay at The Driskill Hotel"! Well, for our 40th Anniversary Sunday, I surprised him with an overnight stay. We both absolutely loved our special stay and enjoyed walking all around the beautiful, historic hotel. In addition we walked to our dinner on Congress Ave., saw the bats, took a carriage ride, had breakfast in the 1886 Room and went on the Austin Duck Tour - just like tourists! The Senate Room was lovely and spacious. The biggest and best special surprise for both of us was the lovely yellow rose of Texas on our pillow with a Happy Anniversary note from the hotel. Such class and thoughtfullness! Thank You all so much for a wonderful stay and attention to details!
